About Eddie

Eddie Hunt is Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT53544) specializing in trauma, addiction recovery, couple and group therapy. He earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in 2010 and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Providence College in 1996. He is trained in EMDR and Brainspotting, two trauma-focused therapies, that enable the healing of emotional distress resulting from adverse life experiences. He is a Certified Group Psychotherapist and the most recent Past-President and former Treasurer of the Group Psychotherapy Association of Los Angeles.

Eddie began his clinical training at the Los Angeles LGBT Center and Southern California Counseling Center, facilitating groups and treating individuals suffering from addictions, co-occurring disorders and chronic mental illness. He continued his training under the private practice supervision of Andrew Susskind, treating individuals and couples on a variety of issues including developmental and acute trauma, chemical dependency, mood disorders and LGBT issues, in addition to facilitating a weekly men’s interpersonal process group.

In 2014, Eddie completed the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Certificate Program at the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies. More recently, Eddie worked as a Primary Therapist at La Fuente Hollywood Treatment Center, a residential and outpatient treatment program serving the LGBT community. He is an active member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association and CAMFT.

Prior to graduate school, he worked in the entertainment industry for ten years, which affords him the ability to understand and empathize with the challenges and struggles particular to the business.
